Total War: Warhammer 2 The Festag Update brings major changes to the Lords and Legendary Lords of the Old World which will now have red skill trees. The developers also included numerous tweaks to the existing skills, traits and abilities.

Creative Assembly have rolled out a fresh update for their turn-based strategy Total War: Warhammer 2. The Festag Update brings a major rework to characters and their skills, traits and abilities and also includes a range of bug fixes.

The biggest change is certainly the introduction of red skill trees for Lords and Legendary Lords of the Old World. These characters now have skills trees comparable to their New World counterparts.

All Beastmen Lords will now have four skills - Crown of Horns, Slug-Skin, Rune of the True Beast, Man-Bane. Some skills from the Wood Elf's red skill tree have been moved and are now separate from other army buffs.

The developers also changed all Lord personal combat skills to tier 2 skills instead of 3. This includes all factions while Heros were left unchanged. Ghorst's unique skill unlock rank has been increased from rank 6 to 12, while Karl Franz's Leader of Men skill has 50 per cent more aura size, previously was set at 25 per cent.

Along with these tweaks, there are numerous skills which have been changed and moved from the red tree skill line to the character line. Creative Assembly also standardised character mounts which now unlock at specific ranks.

Spectator Mode also got some changes and new features. Players who host spectator mode will now be able to use spectator controls and invite other players into their game. Another feature is the AI opponent which can be added to the game.

On top of that, Creative Assembly addressed a huge number of issues and the major ones include fixes for crashes that occurred after certain events in the game. There are also some nerfs and buffs to spells and you can check them all out in the patch notes on Total War  .

The developers also mentioned that it is highly recommended to start a new campaign after updating the game, and any points invested in skills prior to the Festag Update will be lost.
