The Last of Us Part 1 Remake is one of the most anticipated PlayStation exclusives of 2022, set to launch later this year. But given that the Last of Us franchise is sadly known for big leaks, especially the sequel, it's not surprising to see that a full set of comparison screenshots have surfaced online before the official reveal.
The screenshots first appeared on Reddit but the post was deleted after some time. However, once something gets published on the internet, it will stay on the internet, so another thread quickly popped up on the gaming forum ResetEra.
You can check out the new screenshots below in a neat comparison with the original The Last of Us Part 1 game. It's safe to say that Naughty Dog invested a lot of love into the remake, especially the visual fidelity, which is a couple of levels above The Last of Us Part 1.
The most noticeable upgrade seems to be in the lightning systems and geometry as well as the sheer detail on each level.
In addition to the shots, the person who leaked the info also revealed that most gameplay improvements are animations. On top of this, the leaker claims that The Last of Us Part 1 Remake supports VRR, 4K 50 FPS mode and dynamic 4K 60 FPS mode.
Of course, as always with leaked information, you should take everything with a grain of salt, except for screenshots, which look pretty real.
The Last of Us Part 1 Remake is set to launch on September 2, 2022, exclusively for PlayStation 5. A PC port is also in development but sadly, it won't be launching simultaneously with the PS5 version.
The good news is that Naughty Dog are actively working on it so it should not take long before we get to play the game on PC.
