Resistance will roll out sometime in autumn. Along with some updates for the Underground DLC, Resistance will also bring a new area and two new game modes. The new social hub will be called Camp Clinton.

Ubisoft just announced that a big update for The Division will land on all platforms simultaneously this fall. Update 1.8 named "Resistance" will be free and introduce two new game modes while expanding the map with a new area: West Side Pier.

West Side Pier is an area that will be spread across two new zones. It will be accessible to all players. "Defeated factions were last seen converging towards the sector and seem to have started working together for the first time. The Division must investigate the area to confirm that factions are indeed forging an alliance and determine the reason for their sudden interest in this location."

The Pier will also be home to the two game modes that are coming with the update:

Resistance (PvE mode) - In Resistance, you must resist (he-he) all kinds of NPCs that will be coming at you in droves. Up to four agents will be tasked with surviving these waves "as long as they can [in order to] earn rewards".

Skirmish (PvP mode) - Four vs four players will compete to get the highest number of kills before the clock runs out. Teams earn points each time a downed enemy player is eliminated.

Camp Clinton will be the new social hub in which the players will be able to group up and get their gear in order before going out to the Pier. The Resistance update will also bring some improvements to the Underground DLC and the rogue mechanics will be overhauled.

Gear optimisation will allow players to improve the stats on their equipment. This is the second of the two free updates planned for Year 2 of The Division.
