The Division 2 - Character creation

Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft have upgraded character customisation for The Division 2 over the original but some players wanted to be able to change more options after creating the character and developers will apparently oblige them.

The Division 2 character creation is decent but it sometimes feels slightly limited. Therefore, players sometimes create characters they don't find attractive later on, prompting them to attempt edits with the Barber service at the White House but it is currently limited to hairstyle, tattoos and markings.

Some players wanted to edit more, such as facial features and even gender, all of which will be made available in the future apparently. The latest update notes mentioned that the character editing will receive a few quality of life changes in the future.

Players will be able to switch the gender if they want to. Others, who wanted more options will get a few. Namely, the bald hairstyle will be made available for those who are not fans of the buzz cut while those who do like hair will get an option to make it actually red. The Division 2's current hair colour options have only a few variations and none of them are red.

While the news of more character creation options is great, it seems like the changes will not be coming soon. Ubisoft explicitly stated they want to talk more about the upcoming changes but they currently can't because the update is "farther out" and "is not coming to the game anytime soon".

In the meantime, players will have to make do with the pile of customisation options they have, other than character creation. In fact, The Division 2 already has a pile of masks that cover the entire face.

Granted, they are mostly retextures of the same mask, but considering the items' popularity in the original The Division, it is probably not a question of "if" but rather of "when" more masks will pop up in The Division 2.
