Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will pick up where Fallen Order left off in terms of the story. We will follow the story of now a bit older Cal, whose goal stays the same: fight against the oppression of the Empire.
In exactly one month, we'll have another chance to hang out with Cal Kestis, the Jedi Knight who, in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order , decided to stand up and fight for his people against the infamous Empire rather than hide.
Cal was a padawan whose master was killed in the purge of the Jedi Order in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and in order to survive, he had to work on a scavenger ship while strictly concealing his identity.
After using the Force to save his friend's life, Cal was forced to reveal his identity and managed to escape the ship and the inquisitors by the skin of his teeth. In addition to the Inquisitors, his use of the Force attracts some other people's attention, who help him escape and embark on an adventure to rescue and reawaken the now almost-destroyed Jedi Order.
The story of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will take place five years after the events of Fallen Order and will also follow the destiny of Cal Kestis, who is now older, wiser, and no less motivated to pick up arms against the oppression of the Empire. According to the trailers, only Cal and his robot friend BD-1 will be present at the beginning of the game. It seems the old Mantis crew has gone their separate ways.
However, the trailers also revealed that Nightsister Merrin, the latest addition to the Mantis crew in the previous game, will occasionally help Cal on his adventures, and the rest of the crew will join him as the story unfolds.
In the official story trailer posted on the EA Star Wars YouTube channel, we found out that the main premise of Survivor's story will be the fight for the place where all the Jedi, along with all free races, will be able to live freely, far from the oppressor's boot.
The game's main antagonist is still unknown, but many believe that the imprisoned character we saw in one of the first trailers for Jedi: Survivor is a reference to the survivor from the Jedi Order and that he will be the main obstacle to Cal's as well as his friend's freedom.
So far, not much has been revealed from the story, which is a good thing given the quality of Star Wars-related stories in general. What we can be certain of is that if Survivor lives up to its predecessor, at least in terms of story, we are in for a really good game.
