Respawn Entertainment are set to release a proper next-gen version of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order this summer, bringing a number of technical improvements to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S console versions.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was one of the best games from EA in 2019 but the game suffered from some serious performance issues early on, especially on base consoles PS4 and Xbox One. With patches and updates, Respawn managed to fix some of the issues and are now working to deliver the best possible version when it comes to consoles - a next-gen release.
Yes, the devs are working on a proper port for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, despite releasing a "next-gen patch" earlier this year, which improved frame rate and resolution significantly.
In the latest announcement on Star Wars website, it's stated that this PS5 and Xbox Series X|S port is scheduled to launch sometime this summer and will feature a number of technical improvements.
"Coming this summer, we’re excited to announce the next-gen release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, bringing a number of technical improvements to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S console versions of the game," it's written in the blog post.
Additionally, this will be a free cross-generation upgrade to all players who own the game. The details about the upgrade are pretty scarce at the moment, but EA and Respawn promise to reveal more details very soon, perhaps at the upcoming E3 show.
It's also worth noting that the game is currently 70 per cent off for the Standard and Deluxe Editions. The offer will be valid until May 12, 2021, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Origin, and Steam.
