Battlefield devs EA DICE don't have any plans for a new Star Wars: Battlefront game and will focus on the Battlefield franchise moving forward.

Star Wars: Battlefront III is dead or to be more precise, it was never alive since the development never really kicked off. This is according to reliable industry insider and Gamesbeat reporter Jeff Grubb. In his latest article, Grubb reveals that Star Wars: Battlefront III will not be happening under EA DICE as the publisher announced plans to move Star Wars games development entirely to Apex Legends devs Respawn Entertainment.

Battlefield developer DICE will not be making a new Battlefront game, instead, they will be focusing on fixing the recently released Battlefield 2042 and the future of the Battlefield franchise.

Whether or not LucasGames decide to give the Battlefront series to a different developer in the near future, it remains to be seen, but one thing is for certain, the series has reached the end of the road at EA, and that's probably for the best - DICE really have not been able to deliver with their last two games.

As for EA and their Star Wars projects, the publisher confirmed they are working on a sequel to the excellent action-adventure Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a new first-person shooter and a turn-based tactics game which is developed in collaboration with Bit Reactor studio. More on that  here.
