It looks like Sony's upcoming PlayStation 5 games showcase could be delayed due to ongoing protests in the US. This would be the third known delay of the event.

Sony's PlayStation 5 event which has been delayed several times in the last month or so could be set for another short delay according to reliable Jeff Grubb from VentureBeat who accurately revealed details about the PS5 event last month.

The reason for another delay lies in the ongoing protests in the US. As you may know, EA already decided to postpone the reveal of Madden NFL 2021 due to protests. "We'll find another time to talk football with you. Because this is bigger than a game, bigger than sports, and needs all of us to stand together and commit to change," they wrote in the statement.

Now, Sony are yet to confirm any potential changes to PlayStation 5 event but if they indeed have plans for another delay, you can expect to hear from the company today or eventually tomorrow.
