Sony say that finding a PlayStation 5 console should become easier starting this year as the stock is set to increase at retailers wordwide.
Sony are kicking of 2023 with an increased stock of PlayStation 5 consoles, meaning it will be easier for Sony fans to find one at retailers worldwide.
The confirmation comes directly from Sony, who just revealed a new "Live from PS5" ad for the console and their lineup of games since PlayStation 5 launched. The ad probably comes to help boost the sales even more now that the stock has improved, which is certainly a smart move.
"To all our fans: thank you for your patience as we navigated unprecedented demand for the PS5 console amid global challenges. If you’re looking to purchase a PS5 console, you should now have a much easier time finding one at retailers globally," Sony said in the latest blog post.
PlayStation 5 has been hard to find ever since the console launched two years ago. Following the issues with scalpers, the stock improved over time but it certainly wasn't on the level Sony would have hoped.
It does look like that's changing now, for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S . It took a while but at least now those who want to get their hands on the new hardware can do so.
Interestingly, despite the stock issues, PlayStation 5's launch was Sony's biggest console launch in history.
As part of the Live From PS5 ad, PlayStation UK Twitter posted one of the exhibitions that are part of the Live From PS5 marketing campaign, revealing God of War's legendary Leviathan Axe breaking the sidewalk by the River Thames in London. The display looks very cool and once again proves that Sony really do marketing well so kudos to the team for that.
We'd say that it's safe to expect a lot of similar exhibitions worldwide but themed around other Sony games, perhaps something from Horizon Forbidden West or Gran Turismo 7.
