Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for all players of Sea of Thieves. Sea of Thieves' upcoming update will introduce a bunch of new content - enough to rival the major Anniversary update of 2019.

Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean have set sail for the restless waters of Sea of Thieves. The fantastic collaboration between Rare, Xbox and Disney will bring the characters from the beloved movie franchise to the swashbuckling game in a new story campaign dubbed Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life.

The new story campaign will be available to all players in exchange for two and three-quarters grains of sand deposited on the nearest windowsill. A Pirate's Life will materialise as part of the Season Three update, set to walk the plank on June 22.

The adventure will take place over five Tall Tales charting a new threat to the pirate way of life from beyond the horizon.

After rescuing Captain Jack Sparrow from an unfortunate predicament, you'll set sail alongside him to uncover secrets, encounter characters old and new, and clash with surprising enemies as you explore the Sea of Thieves – and visit some new locations that'll be familiar to fans of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise and the theme park attraction.

The upcoming treasure chest of content will send the players on a quest to protect the Sea of Thieves from the dark ambitions of Jack's nemesis Davy Jones.

Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life is the headline feature of Season Three, which also shakes up the Sea of Thieves as new enemy types featured in the Tall Tales spill out across the world. Skeletons and sharks are no longer your main concern as swarming Sirens, darting Phantoms and brutish Ocean Crawlers surge across the seas.

More precious details about Sea of Thieves Season Three will be shared closer to the launch of Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life.

PS: The rum is still gone.
