In the latest Saints Row gameplay walkthrough, we get to see some car combat mechanics, gunfights and how to wreck an entire camp with a portable toilet.
Judging by the early gameplay videos, Saints Row is indeed bringing back its crazy sandbox experience that allows players to wreak havoc all over the map using various tools. The most recent gameplay walkthrough, which has been obtained by Gameinformer, shows the game's opening missions which are jam-packed with action, as expected.
We get to see some gunfights, driving and the types of attacks you can do while driving. For example, Sideswipe is one of the attacks that you can use to damage other vehicles and put them into a nearby wall, which of course results in Micheal Bay-style explosions. Vehicular combat looks on point.
The second part of the video gives us a closer look at Idol Threat mission which has a hilarious segment where a player attaches a portable toilet to his car and then uses it to destroy the camp of the enemy gang. It's as hilarious and crazy as it sounds and the developers have a name for it - "the crappiest wrecking ball of all time".
All in all, the gameplay does look quite fun. The only thing that still bugs us is the cartoonish art style but if the game is fun when it launches, we probably won't mind the visuals that much.
Saints Row is officially coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on February 25, 2022.
