Volition may be preparing a big showcase for gamescom 2021. The studio has been deep in the development of a new Saints Row title since at least August 2021.
It's been 15 years since the first Saints Row game launched to rock our world and provide a different spin on the GTA rootin', tootin' and shootin' experience. Now it's not exactly news that a new Sants Row title is in development but a lot of people were disappointed when the gang failed to make an appearance at this year's E3.

There might be a good explanation why Volition didn't choose to bring a demo to the 2021 E3 show; The studio was already reported to be "deep in development" as of August 2019 and they are probably just waiting for the right moment to give us the taste of the upcoming adventure.
The ideal moment might be coming up along with a big gaming industry event: gamescom 2021. The event will kick off on 25 August and go on until 27 August 2021. This would perfectly line up with the franchise's anniversary: it's been a decade and a half since the first Saints Row game graced our Xbox 360s on 29 August 2006.
