Rockstar Games have officially confirmed that the next Grand Theft Auto game is in active development.
GTA 6 development has been officially confirmed by Rockstar Games who revealed that the project is "well underway". Though the publisher did not reveal additional details, they've promised to share more as soon as they are ready.
Here's the official announcement from Rockstar's blog:
"With the unprecedented longevity of GTAV, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered — and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway. We look forward to sharing more as soon as we are ready, so please stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for official details."
GTA 6 is rumoured to be set in modern-day Vice City with evolving map and two protagonists. Since the game is yet to be officially announced, it will probably take a while before we get to play it. Insiders suggest that a potential release date is 2024/2025.
It's safe to assume that GTA 6 will be coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
