Well kick my spitoon and buy me some jerky... Red Dead Redemption 2 is on the way
Rockstar have officially announced Red Dead Redemption 2, due for release in autumn 2017.
After a few days of teasing us on social media, the studio posted the official confirmation a short while ago, revealing the name as Red Dead Redemption 2 and a provisional release date of Fall 2017.
We've suggested the release dates are tied into the next major hardware releases from Sony and Microsoft, the PS4 Pro and Xbox Scorpio, but no real details about the game have yet been released.
We can expect the single-player experience to be as good as anything the firm do, but this time round it's certain multiplayer will take more of a stage too.
Multiplayer featured in the last RDR, though not to anywhere near the level now seen in GTA5, so there's a lot of room to grow a posse-vs-bandits world.
Rockstar says: "The game's vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience."
Luckily we don't have long to wait for a trailer - it's due on Thursday at 11am EST, 4pm UK time. Sign up here for updates via Rockstar.
