The mythic overhaul is here and with it, are the long-awaited changes to the Prestige skins. One thing that may have gone under the radar is the teasing regarding the clothing of LoL champions.
League of Legends Prestige Skins are one of the rarest skins in the game. They are based on a champion's best-selling skin and built on top of that base. That was the standard Riot Games practice up until now when they are introducing the new, Prestige 2.0 skins.
With the Mythic overhaul, the removal of Gemstones, and Prestige Points, the whole system of Prestige skins is being changed. Instead of being built on top of base skins, as they were in the past, Prestige 2.0 skins will have an identity of their own, one based on high fashion.
In the recent, rambling on Twitter as they called it, one League of Legends developer, and a product lead, explained just what this will entail. In doing so, they also teased that, just as these new skins will have an identity and recognizable "monogram' like Gucci and LV, they might also get some merchandise to go along with it as well.
Up until now, we can't say that League of Legends merchandise was really fashionable. It's been limited to various T-Shirts and hoodies with champions and logos on them. With Prestige 2.0, perhaps now Riot will foray into actual fashion, and release some merchandise based on the clothes the champions are wearing.
In any case, it's aa a good route as any to get gamers to dress better.
