Resident Evil Village is not even out yet and we have some details on the ninth game in the franchise, which has been in development since late 2018, according to insider Dusk Golem.
Resident Evil franchise has been a massive success for the Japanese publisher and developer Capcom, who are currently wrapping up the development of Resident Evil Village, a brand new game in the series, which is a direct sequel to Resident Evil 7, the first game in the series to adopt the first-person perspective.
You may think that this is a sole focus for Capcom and once the game is out, we will hear more about other, rumoured projects like Resident Evil 4 Remake but it looks like the devs are already busy with many different games, even though they are yet to release Resident Evil Village.
According to a well-known insider for all things Resident Evil - Dusk Golem - Capcom have been working on several projects at the exact same time, including Resident Evil 9.
When one Twitter user pointed out that having three Resident Evil games in development simultaneously would be overkill, Dusk Golem replied with some interesting insight:
"Wait until you find out that there was a period of time that RE:2, RE:3, RE8, Outrage, RE:4 & RE9 were all in development at the exact same time (late 2018)," he tweeted.
Of course, the full development of Resident Evil 9 probably won't kick off until Capcom are done with Resident Evil Village or even later. Thanks to Dusk Golem, we also know that Resident Evil 4 Remake should be coming after Village and it's expected to be a major project, similar to Resident Evil 2 Remake.
Hopefully, Capcom will soon reveal more info regarding upcoming Resident Evil games.
