Capcom have officially announced that two more Resident Evil games will be coming to Switch. The fifth and sixth instalment will release on 29 October 2019. Capcom will also release a special edition that will pack Resident Evil 4, 5 and 6.
Nintendo's hybrid console Switch is set to expand its portfolio of games with more Resident Evil titles. The developer of the games - Capcom - have officially announced in the latest blog post that Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 are set for a release on Nintendo Switch. The release date is scheduled for 29 October 2019.
Resident Evil 5 and 6 will join three previously released ports - Resident Evil 0, 1 and 4 - which launched on the handheld console in May 2019. As for the prices, each game will cost $29.99 but you can also buy both titles in a special edition pack that costs $59.99 and it also includes Resident Evil 4.
At the moment, Capcom only confirmed that Resident Evil Triple Pack will be available in North America, exclusively as a retail version. The pack includes Resident Evil 4 on a cartridge, while for the fifth and sixth instalment, you'll get a digital download voucher.
Capcom also confirmed that they will show the first look at Resident Evil 5 and 6 on Nintendo Switch at San Diego Comic-Con.
While the latest ports are not considered as the best games in the series, due to their focus on action gameplay rather than survival horror, they are still worth trying as they offer a bit different experience than old school horror feel, which can be found in Resident Evil 2.
Resident Evil 5 also has a co-op feature so you can survive zombie infection in Africa with a friend.
For those who are hoping that Resident Evil 2 Remake could arrive to Nintendo's console, well, Capcom already confirmed that at this time, they don't have plans for the Switch port. That could change in the future, of course, but nothing is imminent.
