Overwatch's Lunar New Year 2020 event - Year of the Rat will bring a new type of Legendary skin to the game. Sombra will be the first hero to sport the new look(s). Jeff and the Overwatch team are still trying to figure out DPS queue times.

Overwatch's Lunar New Year event will start today, 16 January 2020, at 7:00 pm GMT and will go on for three weeks - until 5 February 2020.

The Year of the Rat will bring fireworks, skins, emotes, highlight intros and more. The details are still subject to speculation as Blizzard has yet to unveil the event in full.

What we do know is that Sombra is getting a new Legendary skin. It looks like a normal Overwatch skin at first glance but then her mask changes its design. We'd say that's an Overwatch first.

The previous Lunar New Years in Overwatch have brought new arcade games - we got Thailand’s Ayutthaya map for the Year of the Dog festivities in 2017. Whether we get more than skins and decorations on the existing maps will depend entirely on the Overwatch team.

The complete list of skins will be revealed sometime today but for now, we know that the Face Changer Sombra is one of the legendaries.

Moira, Lucio, Doomfist and Winston are the other Overwatch heroes that we for sure know are getting new skins as well.

The Party Flex Role Queue has moved on from the game's PTR since last week , to be replaced with some hero updates. If the PTR changes make it to the live version of Overwatch, Baptiste's Immortality frisbee's duration time will be reduced and its cooldown increased. His Ultimate cost will also be increased by the standard 20 per cent.

Mei's primary fire will be nerfed but D.Va's boosters' cooldown will be decreased. Orisa's Fortify ability will also be nerfed and Hanzo's Storm Bow will receive a reduction in projectile speed.

Doomfist's Rising Uppercut recovery time will also be given a slight increase.

The queue time for the DPS players of Overwatch remains an issue and Jeff and the team are working on ways to remedy the problem.
