Norman Reedus confirms in his latest interview that they have just started the sequel to Death Stranding.
Speaking in an interview with leoedit, Norman Reedus, the actor who plays Sam Porter Bridges in Death Stranding, has confirmed that Death Stranding 2 has started development. "We just started the second one," he said. "The [first] game came out, and it just won all these awards, and it was a huge thing, so we just started part two of that."
It's been long speculated that Kojima Productions are indeed working on a sequel to Death Stranding but nothing has been officially announced by Sony nor Kojima Productions just yet.
The confirmation from Reedus will probably annoy Sony and Kojima, since it ruins the surprise but at least we now know that the game is indeed coming and could be officially revealed soon.
Given that Reedus said it just started the second one, it will probably take a while before we get to play the sequel. On top of this, Kojima Productions are quite busy with several rumoured projects like Silent Hill, an Xbox cloud project and now the sequel to Death Stranding.
Hideo Kojima himself confirmed that his studio is working on two games, one being a big AAA project while the other one is described as a "new, challenging one".
Hopefully, we'll finally get to see these new Kojima projects very soon as the Japanese creator is certainly one of the biggest and most influential figures in the gaming industry and each of his games are eagerly awaited.
Death Stranding may have not sold as well as Sony hoped but it seems that they do trust Kojima enough to allow him to do a full sequel.
