Sentinels are preparing for the new addition as Riot Games are ramping up the hype for the upcoming League of Legends event and the new champion. The new Sentinel will be named Akshan.
Besides the grappling hook that was revealed long ago, Akshan will be using some sort of a pokey-looking stick but it remains to be seen if he will actually be able to poke champions. He probably will since this Marksman is apparently supposed to be played in the mid lane primarily but keep in mind that Riot Games stated roaming and dueling will be at the core of this champion's design.
However, Akshan won't be the only champion to join the champion roster during this event. At the end of their Rise of the Sentinels video, Riot decided to show us an interesting image featuring two familiar faces, Riven and Olaf, alongside a new character in the top right corner.
The design of the character fits the description of the "gloomy" Yordle mentioned in their roadmap back in April. The champion doesn't look like any existing champion in the game, so there is a big chance that it could be the upcoming Yordle mage who will have a part of the Ruination storyline.
This champion was set to be released before Akshan but in their roadmap Riot revealed that she needs some additional time in development. They've also mentioned that she's moved away from being artillery mage and she's much closer to a classic mage.
Also, her description mentioned that she's "annoyed as hell" with hyperactive champions around her. This means that she could have a mechanic that will punish dashes, similar to Poppy's Steadfast Presence (W).
