Assassin's Creed rumours surrounding the next-gen entry in the franchise are still going strong, with the latest round noting that the title will not be Ragnarok, but there will be a lot of supernatural stuff going on.
Ubisoft's leaks seem to be unstoppable as the previously uncovered achievement list for the next Assassin's Creed revealed that we would fight Jormungandr, the giant reptile PlayStation 4 players could face in God of War. The list itself was the sole but obviously highly important leak since it contained a lot of info at the time.
Fast forward to 13 April 2020, French YouTuber j0nathan spilt the beans on several details regarding the next AC. For example, the previous two guesses for the title were Valhalla or Ragnarok and now he stated that this will not be the case. He did, however, confirm that the game will be set in the Viking era.
Another takeaway from the list of j0nathan's leaks is the return of the hidden blade, along with the shield. Just like with Odyssey, players will be able to choose between a male and female character.
Despite the Viking thematic, Scandinavia will not be the only region featured in the game and since Vikings reached the northern parts of the American continent, it seems feasible.
The RPG take on the series will still be around, with a lot more supernatural content planned. As longtime followers of Assassin's Creed probably guessed by now, it is related to the First Civilisation.
According to the leaks, the next AC is still planned to be released at the end of 2020. This release window would make it come out together with the next-gen consoles, which would be the logical move for Ubisoft. It's unlikely this means it won't come out on PS4 and Xbox One though.
