Xbox's official YouTube channel has just posted 9:22 minutes long gameplay walkthrough of Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, and it's well worth the watch no matter what you end up playing it on.

Settlements are just one of the things that set Assassin's Creed: Valhalla apart from the rest of the franchise. The dev took great care in designing it so that it reflects your progress through the game, with upgradeable buildings and extensive customisation options.

And it's not just cosmetic, although it does offer barber salons, tattoo shops and such. Players will be able to tailor settlements to their own liking, and will eventually unlock buildings like the blacksmith, where Assassin's Creed: Valhalla warriors can upgrade their gear.

"Every single quest ark in the game is introduced through what we call the War Table", said Assassin's Creed: Valhalla producer Julien Laferriere. "You will see different opportunities for the clan. Maybe it's to organise a wedding to kind of gain the favour of a local lord, or sometimes it's an opportunity for military conquest."

Assassin's Creed: Valhalla will have all sorts of missions, as well as an interesting cast of characters, all of which will be channelled through the War Table. Ultimately, the settlements are the heart and soul of the game, and their prosperity will directly reflect your playthrough.

The gameplay walkthrough also shows raiding, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla's chief activity, as well as the brutal combat skills and abilities.

Laferriere stressed that Assassin's Creed: Valhalla has a wide range of enemy archetypes, with the goal being challenging encounters in early as well as the late game.

Assassin's Creed's iconic stealth play is back, of course, and the gameplay walkthrough shows the Odin Sight, which will give you a quick overview of the area.
