The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has had renewed interest following the release of the new The Witcher TV series on Netflix. The iconic RPG was No.38 on the UK charts two weeks ago but now sits at No.12.
CD Projekt Red's iconic RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has received a massive sales boost in the last couple of weeks, all thanks to Netflix and their new TV series The Witcher, which stars Henry Cavill as Geralt. Two weeks ago, The Witcher 3 was sitting at No.38 rising to No.20 last week but today, the RPG has just barely missed the top 10 - it sits at No.12.
The TV series from Netflix attracted 76 million viewers worldwide which makes The Witcher one of the biggest shows in the UK in 2019 so it does not come as a surprise to see a massive sales increase for the game.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot still holds the number one spot on the UK physical sales chart though. This is the second consecutive week for Bandai Namco's action-adventure on the throne. However, the sales dropped 63 per cent week-on-week but despite that, Kakarot is still first with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare following closely behind.
The rest of the list is made of the usual suspects such as Grand Theft Auto V, FIFA 20, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Here is the UKIE/GSD Top 10 list for the week ending 25 January 2020:
- Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
- Grand Theft Auto V
- FIFA 20
- Just Dance 2020
- Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
- Luigi's Mansion 3
- Mario & Sonic At The Tokyo Olympic Games 2020
Keep in mind that the list does not include digital sales, only physical, which can be a bit misleading since the majority of sales today are in digital form.
