Capcom have rolled out the gameplay reveal trailer for Iceborne, Monster Hunter: World's upcoming expansion, and it's coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on 06 September 2019, whereas Steam players will have to wait for the winter.

Capcom claim they spared no content in the making of Iceborne and "the volume of gameplay content in Iceborne will rival that of Monster Hunter: World, with even more quests to face this time around!"

In short, Monster Hunter: World is getting new monsters, new storyline, new gameplay, features and more.

Iceborne's storyline follows the events following the base game, when the Research Commission notices unusual Legiana behaviour in the New World. New mystery means new localities as well, "and the discovery that the legendary Velkhana is way more than just a myth".

Monster Hunter: World is getting a new environment - the Hoarfrost Reach, which fits Iceborne quite well, what with all the snow. Interestingly, Iceborne's will be the biggest in-game region introduced thus far.

With the new environment come new creatures as well, ranging from small wildlife like Rime Beetles to new monsters like Beotodus, Banbaro and more.

Capcom have a few upgrades to Slinger prepared for Iceborne's arrival, and once it's here, players will be able to use it while their weapon is drawn, which should open up various gameplay opportunities like combos or just plain running away.

The Clutch Claw upgrade lets "lets you grapple onto monsters at a moment's notice. From there you’ll also be able to unleash devastating attacks or even directly guide the monster momentarily".

Firing up Monster Hunter: World Iceborne will require having completed the main story and achieving Hunter Rank 16, but hunters who haven't done so have ample time to amend that mistake by 06 September 2019.
