Mojang Studios revealed that they are adding a new hostile mob to Minecraft with the 1.21 Update set to be released on June 7th, 2024. Even though it's yet to be released, you can still check it out on Minecraft Snapshot.
Mobs have always been a major part of Minecraft. And since they drop unique loot and materials, players were always incentivized to go beyond their usual and peaceful farming methods to acquire unique drops from hostile mobs.
So far the players seemed to have mixed reactions. Some think that the Bogged will be a refreshing new addition to the game, while others are calling out Mojang Studios for creating yet another skeleton variant instead of something new.
What is the new Mob revealed for the 1.21 Update in Minecraft?
The new Mob revealed for the 1.21 update is called Bogged. The Bogged are going to be a hostile mob. They are somewhat like the Skeletons and have green bones with a sort of camouflaged bodies. You can usually find them in the Swamp and Mangrove biomes. Here's what we know about the Bogged so far:
- The bogged are a new skeleton variant
- They fire poison-tipped arrows
- They can be found in the trial chambers
- They are an undead mob
- Sunlight sets them on fire
- The poison arrows apply a debuff which damages the player over time
- Paired with the Breeze or Zombies or Creepers they become a massive threat
- Players can farm them in the Spawn room
You can test out the 1.21 updates on its beta version or wait till June for the update.
Bonus: Mojang Studios has confirmed that they will add another mob to the game as a part of the 1.21 Update.
So are you excited about this patch? We definitely are.
