Mindseye has just received its second hotfix on PC, with console versions pending approval from Sony and Xbox. While developer Build A Rocket Boy insists they’re listening to community feedback and working to fix core gameplay issues, many players remain unconvinced as the game continues to struggle both critically and technically.
Hotfix 2 brings much needed performance improvements
The latest patch addresses a range of problems, from performance bottlenecks to broken mission sequences. Key fixes include optimisations for CPU, GPU, and memory usage, as well as improvements to vehicle AI and mission stability.
Crashes during key cinematics like the “Doxxed” mission have also been tackled, along with bizarre bugs such as weapons sticking together and AI holding guns at awkward angles.
PC users will notice some platform-specific changes too, such as improved camera clipping in the editor and a warning for AMD CPU users running outdated Windows versions lacking performance optimisations.
Mindseye Launched In a Rough State
Despite these efforts, Mindseye is still in rough shape. Launching with major bugs, frequent crashes, and inconsistent visuals, the game’s state has left many early adopters disappointed. While regular updates are promised, it remains to be seen if this ongoing patchwork approach will be enough to turn things around.
Build A Rocket Boy says they’re committed to long-term improvements, but for now, Mindseye feels more like a work-in-progress or a beta than a polished open-world experience that many players expected when they purchased this one.
