It's been a while since we've heard from Build A Rocket Boy, a new studio founded by Leslie Benzies, former Rockstar Games North president and GTA V producer and designer. Benzies and the team are currently working on their debut game called Everywhere and they are aggressively hiring in the process.
Today, Build A Rocket Boy announced that three industry veterans are joining the studio - Mick Hocking as a chief development officer, Murray Pannell as SVP of global marketing, and Randall Price as a chief publishing officer.
All three have tons of experience within the industry. Hocking previously worked for Codemasters, and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe as a vice president.
Pannell joins from 2K Games with an impressive portfolio that includes marketing director at Ubisoft and marketing director for UK and Ireland at PlayStation.
Build A Rocket Boy are also planning to reveal more of Everywhere in the coming months. Commenting on the new hires, Lesli Benzies said that the team are continuing development on Everywhere and looking forward to showing more later this year.
"...as we continue development on Everywhere, and we're looking forward to having more to announce from the team later in 2022," Benzies said.
At the moment, we don't know much of Everywhere, except that it's a highly ambitious sci-fi open-world game akin to Grand Theft Auto with a strong online component. We cannot wait to see the first gameplay and hear about the release date.
Everywhere was originally scheduled to release back in Q4 2021 but we lived through a global pandemic which delayed a lot of things, including video games. Hopefully, though, this will be the only delay that Everywhere suffers on its road toward launch.
