Latest Mass Effect: Andromeda patch made the game somewhat more playable, and applied the latest version of Denuvo. This means that the pirates who downloaded the cracked game will be unable to play the updated version.

Mass Effect: Andromeda faced a lot of issues on release. The NPCs and the main character walked funny, the dialogue was all over the place and the facial mo-cap of the characters was sub optimal to say the least.

The worst thing about the characters' faces were the eyes that stared straight into your soul, quietly judging you and being more effective than Ghost Rider's Penance Stare.

Recently, an update for the game was released, and it featured a number of improvements:

  • Allowing you to skip ahead when travelling between planets in the galaxy map
  • Increasing the inventory limits
  • Improving the appearance of eyes for humans and asari characters
  • Decreasing the cost of remnant decryption keys and making them more accessible at merchants
  • Improving localised voice over lip sync
  • Fixing Ryder’s movements when running in a zig zag pattern
  • Improving matchmaking and latency in multiplayer

No change was more welcome than the one which improved the appearance of eyes for human and asari characters. And boy, did it improve. Who would have guessed that a little shading in the corners of the characters' eyes could make such a huge difference. Just look at those eyes now:

The update dropped and everything was good in the world. Especially after the update also applied the latest version of Denuvo anti-piracy protection.

You see, the game launched with an outdated and already , which was presumably the one applied to Resident Evil 7. And the Resident Evil one was cracked in a week - fastest a game with Denuvo has been pirated.

With the new Denuvo now protecting the latest version of Mass Effect: Andromeda, pirates will not be able to update their cracked versions, and will be forced to play the game in it's pre-patch state.
