It looks like Crystal Dynamics' upcoming title Marvel's Avengers will require at least 90 GB of free hard drive space on consoles according to players who already received their physical copies.
Marvel's Avengers will be another massive game in terms of install size. As players are already frustrated with the file sizes of the latest Call of Duty title and other blockbusters, Marvel's Avengers is set to join the list of games that will require a lot of free space on your hard drive, regardless of the platform.
Earlier this week, PC players found out that a minimum of 75 GB of their drive space is necessary for Captain America and his fellas while 110 GB is recommended. Today, console players also got first info on Marvel's Avengers file size on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
According to some players, who received early copies of the game due to certain retailers, Marvel's Avengers file size is around 90 GB. At the moment, we do not know if this size includes only the base game or if this will be the overall size of the game with upcoming DLC. This remains to be seen but it is safe to say that the info sounds pretty legit since the PC file size is usually bigger due to high-resolution textures but not significantly bigger.
Also, a small portion of the game which players got to play in the beta already required 30 GB of free space, so it's reasonable to expect a big increase in overall file size.
We hope that Square Enix will allow players to pre-load the game, just like they did with the beta, so they have everything up and running before servers unlock.
Marvel's Avengers is officially releasing on September 4 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Those who pre-ordered the deluxe edition will get to play it on September 1.
