Riot Games posted more info on what we can expect from MSI 2021, such as regional group phase and the rewards for top placed leagues and teams.
MSI 2021 groups have been drawn, based on four tiers. Each region's tier will be designated by the number next to its name in the list for each group.
Group A
- LPL
- VCS
- LCL
- LCO
Group B
- LEC
- PCS
- TCL
- CBLOL
Group C
- LCK
- LCS
- LLA
- LJL
These region rankings were based on their performances in the last two tournaments. As for the teams, each region's top-placed crew will represent them. Qualifying teams will begin their showdown on May 6, 2021, in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Just like before, the team that wins the tournament will get to secure one additional spot for their region on the following World Championship. On top of that, the highest-ranking region, based on more than one tournament, will get one additional Worlds spot.
In case a team from the best-ranked region also wins MSI, it will receive only one additional Worlds spot while the second-best region will also get one more seed.
You can check out the MSI streams at the usual channels via Twitch and YouTube or through lolesports.com . That last option will probably include some sort of in-game rewards for watching.
