Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle had to sit one split out as he didn't find an LEC team in time for the new season but that era has come to an end as Excel signed their new support.
G2 Esports had a bit of restructuring ahead of the 2022 LEC season which left some of their former roster displaced. This resulted in a slew of transfers that pretty much no one anticipated until Brieuc "Wooloo" Seeger and Jacob Wolf started reporting them. Wunder went to G2's rivals, Fnatic, while Rekkles went to K-Corp to compete in the EFL.
Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle was the only one not to find a team during the off-season and it's currently unclear whether this was the player's choice or a problem with the size of the buyout price. As a result, he started the 2022 season of LEC teamless but that has changed on January 25, 2022, when Excel Esports announced they acquired the former G2 support which surprised fans of both the team and the player.
Those who followed Excel were surprised because the synergy between Advienne and Markoon was the source of a lot of success XL had so far. Adding Mikyx to the roster means Advienne will have to be benched from time to time, at least, and it remains to be seen how the new support fits in.
That said, Mikyx is one of the best supports LEC has seen in the past few years and he is joining a team that is at the lower end of the mid-table. They had a fairly good run so far, dropping games to G2 and MSF as well as Team BDS, with the last one being a catch that got out of their hands.
Refreshing a roster can someone yield unexpected improvements and should that prove to be the case with Miky, were might be looking at a pretty stacked season, as far as play-off chances go.
