Litle Green Men Games have posted their first development diary for the highly anticipated title Starpoint Gemini 3, where they discussed a few important points, starting with what they say is one of the most important - public opinion.
LGM pointed out that Starpoint Gemini started its journey a decade ago and that the team always tried new things, as there was no doubt that the game's story will take several instalments to be told properly.
Granted, it hasn't always worked in every aspect, as they conceded that Starpoint Gemini Warlords fell short in the story and character department, something fans made them aware of quite early and quite strongly.
What this meant for Starpoint Gemini 3 is that LGM's team sat down and analysed each instalment, along with things that made it tick or those that detracted from the overall experience, hoping to reuse the best and dump the worst.
Having learned from Starpoint Gemini Warlords, LGM's team decided "to make an even better single player experience with a great story and developed characters", for which they reached out to Darko Macan, their new teammate that's more than well versed in all things Sci-Fi and whose portfolio features Star Wars and Marvel.
Along with a rich story, LGM promises a rich and immersive world full of interesting characters. "Our artists took on the great challenge of coming up with ideas for the characters, spaceships, stations, and other elements that would enrich the Starpoint Gemini universe. For the first time, players will be able to interact with other NPCs and get face to face with the aliens who were ever present in the previous instalments, but never seen before", they wrote.
The aliens have pulled a blitzkrieg on the Empire and are no longer the mysterious unseen force they were, which LGM said is quite symbolic of the fact that Starpoint Gemini 3 players "will get to experience all the aspects of living in Gemini and get a better understanding of how that universe works" for the first time.
