Assassin's Creed Odyssey is set to receive first paid DLC dubbed Legacy of the First Blade. The developer shared a new trailer and details regarding the first episode which brings back the original assassin blade and explains its origins.
Ubisoft have revealed the details about the first paid DLC for Assassin's Creed Odyssey dubbed Legacy of the First Blade. The expansion is part of the season pass and in its first episode, it will introduce the players to a mysterious old man named Darius.
According to Ubisoft, the players will have to discover Darius true intentions as they progress through the story. The mystery assassin is also the first hero to use the iconic assassin blade which pops up at the 20-second mark in the trailer. Darius was mentioned in previous Assassin's Creed games but this will be his first appearance.
It looks like Ubisoft's focus with the new expansion is to bring the game closer to the original assassins storyline and gameplay. The series distanced from classic Assassin's Creed games in the last iterations and are closer to full RPG games with new mechanics like crafting and dialogue choices.
The update will explain the origins of assassin's and why they chose to strike from the shadows and we assume it will be told from Darius' perspective as we can already see in the trailer.
Additionally, Legacy of the First blade will bring new characters, naval combats and enemies. The short description also mentioned equipment customisation and new abilities but we'll have to wait a little bit more for detailed information which will come in the upcoming days.
Legacy of the First Blade will be released episodically in three instalments. Ubisoft are yet to confirm the release dates for the second and third episodes but given that the next DLC The Fate of Atlantis is scheduled for Spring 2019 release, we assume that the remaining first DLC content will roll out during the winter.
