League of Legends' most prestigious tournament of the year has received the starting date for each of its stages through Tencent's recent panel. The play-ins are kicking off about a month from now.
Riot Games didn't manage to officially announce the start dates for each of the tournament stages when it comes to World Championship 2020 before they became known.
Technically, it is still in the company's official capacity since it was Tencent, the owners of Riot Games, who revealed the dates through their Esports Conference .
The major parts are broken down into six significant time windows:
- Play-In Stage - September 25 to 30
- Group Stage - October 3 to 6
- Group Stage, part two - October 8 to 11
- Quarterfinals - October 15 to 18
- Semifinals - October 24 and 25
- Finals - October 31
Overall, we are looking at six weekends of great esports fun, with the first part kicking off exactly one month from publishing the article, on September 25, 2020.
We still don't know when the group draw is going to be officially held but since LCK will be the last league that will conclude its Summer Play-Offs, it is safe to assume we are still a couple of weeks away from the event.
One interesting fact is that only Europe and China will have a chance to have four teams in Group Stage each, meaning that if the regions' Play-In teams qualify, each group will have at least one team from them.
