One of the League of Legends game designers has revealed the balance targets for the upcoming update 12.9 which will bring changes to multiple popular champions like Pyke and Master Yi.

Preseason has brought multiple changes to the game of League of Legends which usually break the game for a couple of weeks and players have to wait for the right patch to drop.

One of the League of Legends game designers has revealed the balance targets for the upcoming patch 12.9.

The following champions will receive a buff:

  • Hecarim
  • Varus
  • Braum
  • Thresh

Depending on the buff, Hecarim could come back in the jungle meta. The fact that both Braum and Thresh are both getting buffed means that there could be a new mele support meta on the horizon.

The list of champions that are getting nerfed is as follows:

  • Rengar
  • Master Yi
  • Nidalee
  • Ahri
  • Renata Glasc
  • Sion

After multiple kit adjustments, it does come as a surprise that Riot decided to give Master Yi additional nerfs. Ahri has become one of the strongest mid lane champions since her mini-rework that took place a couple of patches ago.

The designer also revealed that three champions will receive new adjusments to their kit. Olaf will receive a small rework which could turn him into a decent top lane bruiser. Pyke is currently at a weird place in the meta and falls off in the later stages of the game.
