League of Legends Patch 12.11 Preview All Buffs and Nerfs

The preview for Patch 12.11 is here, and here are all the buffs and nerfs we can expect to see next week. Whether some are needed, or some are missing is beside the point.

With patch 12.11, Riot are being careful to not undo what they just did with the durability update of patch 12.10, and are doing their best to maintain item choice, champion feel, identity, role balance, etc.

This patch will see changes implemented to a staggering number of 29 champions. Well, staggering compared to the average patch at least.

The following champions will receive buffs with patch 12.11:

  • Xin Zhao,
  • Nunu and Willump,
  • Ryze,
  • Taric,
  • Rakan,
  • Samira,
  • Caitlyn,
  • Aphelios,
  • Tahm Kench,
  • Irelia,
  • Gragas,
  • Lee Sin,
  • Tryndamere,
  • Sylas.

As we can see, most of the champions receiving buffs are fighters, which is strange considering assassins are using the fighter builds to avoid their own weaknesses.

Speaking of weaknesses, the following champions will receive a nerf in patch 12.11:

  • Lillia Top,
  • Wukong,
  • Master Yi,
  • Swain,
  • Taliyah,
  • Gwen,
  • Kayn (Rhaast),
  • Brand,
  • Kog'Maw,
  • Rengar,
  • Veigar,
  • Senna,
  • Olaf Top.

The nerfs are geared towards champions with self-healing. This may not make much sense considering that grievous wounds are also being nerfed, however, those are specialized against healing in general, while the mentioned champions are isolated cases that have either received reworks recently, or are just a constant source of similar trouble the way Kayn is. All in all, once we see the extent of the nerfs, we will have a clearer picture of what Riot are trying to accomplish.
