The durability update that came with patch 12.10 was the biggest one this season. However, it seems that patch 12.11 will rival it for that title immediately.
As the developers describe it on their Twitter accounts, path 12.11 is going to be a massive patch.
And, though its goal is not to revert the changes of patch 12.10, some changes need to be implemented as there were unforeseen consequences with the durability update.
When it comes to assassins, the consequences are not what you may think they are. While assassins were supposed to be nerfed with the durability update, they became far too nerfed due to buffs on durability, nerfs on burst, and nerfs on items all taking place at once.
What this caused was that assassins turn, instead, to buying fighter items to have builds that let them stand a change in the current state of the game. However, Riot prefer assassins to stay in their own lane, so we can expect the following items to get their buffs with patch 12.11:
- Duskblade of Draktharr
- Eclipse
- Prowler's Claw
- Axiom Arc
- Serpent's Fang
However, items such as Maw of Malmortius and Umbral Glaive are getting nerfed. Umbral for being a, frankly, unfair advantage in denying vision, and Maw for being far too good at what it does with the durability update. Hopefully, this will get the assassins back in the game, without undoing the feeling that ADCs had, that they could actually play the game now.
