The official League of Legends website has released an article in which they've revealed some additional information about one of the upcoming champions, the Yordle mage Vex.

Sentinels are preparing for the new addition as Riot Games are ramping up the hype for the upcoming League of Legends event and the new champion. The new Sentinel will be named Akshan.

However, Akshan won't be the only champion to join the champion roster during this event. At the end of their Rise of the Sentinels video , Riot decided to show us an interesting image featuring two familiar faces, Riven and Olaf, alongside a new character in the top right corner.

The design of the character fits the description of the "gloomy" Yordle mentioned in their roadmap  back in April. The champion doesn't look like any existing champion in the game, so there is a big chance that it could be the upcoming Yordle mage who will have a part of the Ruination storyline.

In their most recent Ask Riot article , Riot revealed that the new champion named Vex should be coming out in September which seems unusual considering that at the point in time, the Sentinels of Light event will be over and we will be heading into the World Championship hype.

This champion was set to be released before Akshan but in their roadmap Riot revealed that she needs some additional time in development. They've also mentioned that she's moved away from being an artillery mage and she's much closer to a classic mage.

Also, her description mentioned that she's "annoyed as hell" with hyperactive champions around her. This means that she could have a mechanic that will punish dashes, similar to Poppy's Steadfast Presence (W).
