If there is one champion in League of Legends that Riot Games can never balance out, it's Master Yi. It took only twelve hours to know that this champion is once again, a problem.

Riot Proxzon was the one who tweeted the changes that Master Yi was to receive with patch 12.13. And, immediately, the entire League of Legends community knew that this was not going to go down well.

And, we were right, and Riot Games were forced to hotfix the new champion changes immediately:

  • Base AD: 66 ⇒ 65
  • AD Growth: 3 ⇒ 2.5
  • Q - Cooldown: 18/17.5/17/16.5/16 ⇒ 20/19.5/19/18.5/18
  • W - Damage Reduction: 60/62.5/65/67.5/70%, increased to 90% for the first 0.5 seconds ⇒ 45/47.5/50/52.5/55%, increased to 90% for the first 0.5 seconds

This update was followed up by a tweet from Riot Phroxzon himself, in which he states:

"Live servers are hotfixed with nerfs to Master Yi, Gwen, Sivir. In Master Ti's case, we wanted to give him more optimizations, to be more performant at higher levels of play, and then move power from his more statchecky elements, after seeing how he landed. (Though we overshot)."

To say that they overshot would be an understatement and something every League of Legends player could see coming from miles away. It took only 12 hours for Master Yi to climb to a 56% win rate, from when patch 12.13 went live.

After all, with the changes to Master Yi , we don't see how the champion has been moved away from stat checking. He was only given a way to outplay opponents, now.
