It's that time on the Rift again. The time where Master Yi is either a pick or ban champion in any ranked game, no matter if it's against enemies or your own allies.
In a recent Twitter post, Riot Phroxzon has revealed the buffs and nerfs League of Legends champions will receive in patch 12.13. One of those is Master Yi, and it does not look good:
- Auto Attack range: 125 --> 175
- New addition - When Alpha Strike ends, choose the direction you want to appear at relative to target
- Meditate:
- Cooldown: 28s --> 9s
- Mana Cost: 50 --> 40 +6% max Mana per Second
- New addition - Damage reduction during the first 0.5s of meditate will now be 90% with the Damage Reduction always lingering for 0.5s after W ends
First things first, we must talk about his increased auto-attack range. At this level, Master Yi's attack range will be a third of an average ADC champion. And for a champion that specializes in killing ADCs, and all backline squishes, that says a lot.
Furthermore, with the addition of the ability to choose where to appear with his Q, along with the lethality buffs coming up, the possibilities of full lethality Duskblade Master Yi are now more potent than ever.
And finally, the damage reduction on his W will, along with the durability update, make Master Yi into something akin to an actual bruiser, for a long enough time for him to get his cooldown back and kill the rest of your team, even overextended. It also works great for early game dives as well.
And to top it all off, every League player knows that Master Yi is only good when playing for the enemy. These changes will allow for more ints to happen, and we can't wait for scenes where an allied Master Yi fails his new Q positioning, overestimates his durability, and feeds the entire game.
