League of Legends Zeri PBE changes explained - More speed, stronger lane, reduced late game power
Zeri receiving changes on PBE that shift her power from late game scaling to early/mid game strength

Key Points from the Article

  • Late game nerfs include reduced attack speed scaling, lower Q ratios, and decreased ultimate ratios to prevent her from dominating late game
  • Mobility enhancements include longer Spark Surge duration and more consistent movement speed from ultimate
  • W receiving increased AP ratio, potentially opening alternative build paths beyond traditional marksman items
  • Changes aim to make Zeri less polarizing and volatile by making her feel faster and more impactful early while reducing her overwhelming late game power

Riot is testing major Zeri changes on the PBE in League of Legends, focusing on improved speed and laning strength while reducing late-game damage.

A new round of Zeri changes are up on the PBE. These changes show a clear desire to reestablish Zeri as a champion that feels quick and mobile while nerfing the parts of her kit that made her wildly difficult to balance.

Zeri has felt extremely polarizing throughout her history on League. Depending on how her scaling is handled, she can either feel lackluster or entirely overpowering.

This current Riot's test feels less like a numbers change and more like a softer rework that places her power in her early/mid game rather than scaling.

A Faster, More Lane-Focused Zeri

Speaking of early game, Zeri is getting a lot of love in her laning phase. Her range is increasing by 10, allowing her to trade without taking as much risk. Additionally, both her Q and E are receiving base AD increases which should allow her to feel stronger in early skirmishes and help her farm better.

Late game Zeri, on the other hand, is getting toned down. Riot is decreasing her attack speed scaling into AD, along with reducing her ratios on her Q ability and her ultimate. Essentially, they want her to remain a mobile, fun champion without letting her runs of games in the late game. Her mobility still feels like a big part of her kit.

Spark Surge is increasing in duration which should allow her to use it more flexibly in longer fights. Her ultimate also increases her movement speed more consistently which should help her follow up on attacks.

Minor changes include increasing her W’s AP ratio, which could mean Riot is open to letting her diverge from her typical marksman build.Remember, these changes are not set in stone by any means but it’s pretty evident what Riot is aiming for with this new iteration of Zeri.

They want her to feel faster and provide more value in her early to mid game while not absolutely demolishing everyone in the late game. If these changes hit the sweet spot, we could finally see Zeri become less volatile.
