Only recently we have heard that Riot are nerfing the abomination that is Inting Sion. However, once these changes were supposed to hit, it seems that not much has changed.
The Inting Sion strategy consists of abusing the Sion passive, playing as aggressively as possible, luring enemy jungler and mid laners top lane, and even when dying to get out even, by either killing an enemy or taking turret plates. And, while so much pressure is on your back, giving your team an open game on the opposite side of the map.
However, to combat this, Riot are nerfing his passive, to do only 40% of his damage to turrets. Or, at least, that was how it was meant to be.
The reality with patch 12.9 going live is not so nice, unfortunately. WHile RIot claim that the nerf is live with patch 12.9 when playing as or against Sion using this strategy, it is evident that there is no change whatsoever. His passive does as much damage as it used to, and is taking down towers in style.
This would not be the first time that Riot said a nerf is hitting a champion, only to forget to implement it, as we know with the Vladimir nerf some time ago when his play rate plummeted because of a non-existing nerf. This could now be the case for Sion as well.
Hopefully, though, Riot do actually nerf this strategy, as we don't know what is worse, being on the receiving end of an enemy that uses it well, or an ally that uses it badly.
