DRX had an exodus of players during the preseason with only the jungler remaining from the old squad. The team is now expected to announce a new roster mostly comprised of rookies.
Pyosik is the sole member of the DRX roster from 2020 that has remained with the organisation. Deft and Chovy moved to HLE, Keria to T1 and Doran transferred to KT Rolster.
Many fans were waiting for DRX to announce the new roster as the team's future looked uncertain and no one was sure whether new signings would happen or the team fish deep into their wide pool of trainees. The latter turned out to be correct.
The new DRX roster will consist of:
- Top - Kingen and Destroy
- Jungle - Pyosik
- Mid - SOLCA
- Bot - BAO
- Support - Rebeca
These are all fresh names on the pro scene and it remains to be seen if they are hungry enough to excel and potentially upset the top of LCK standings. It would not be the first time something like this happened in the league, especially because cvMax also brought a bunch of rookies together in Griffin, who became a force to be reckoned with until their fall.
Another interesting note is that SOLCA was previously known as Quad and has actually played with the main roster of DRX in the previous season.
The departure of heavy hitters like Chovy, Deft and Keria is certainly a blow to any team but the refreshed DRX squad may also serve to refresh LCK scene. If only LCS had such tendencies.
