T1 continued the trend of hiring young prodigies in support position which is possibly the reason why Effort is now moving to Sandbox.
Effort was one of the hottest young talents back in 2016 and 2017, which prompted SKT T1 to promote him to the main roster. The player has had his highs and lows but many fans were left feeling like he didn't live up to his potential.
Following the finish of Season 2020 in competitive League of Legends, T1 were looking to reorganise and aim for a better season than the previous one where they failed to qualify for World Championship.
This included signing Keria from DragonX. Acquiring the young support may hint towards a trend in T1 philosophy as this is yet another young prospect with high hopes for his future performances. He's had a stellar season with DRX, although the team didn't top LCK and were knocked out in Worlds quarterfinals by the eventual champions, Damwon Gaming.
Keria's signing was a strong hint that Effort would move to another team, despite having signed a multi-year deal with T1 previously. On November 28, 2020, Naver Sports reported that it would be Sandbox Gaming who will pick up Effort's contract in the inaugural year of franchised LCK.
According to Naver, Sandbox will soon present the player officially but they didn't divulge details about his salary or contract period.
GorillA's departure probably left big shoes to fill in SB but if Effort manages to reproduce some of his better performances, it would be fair to say the replacement was well worth it.
