No, not the Assassin's Creed hood, we meant Robin Hood, whose name and trade clearly inspired Hood: Outlaws and Legends, a new PvPvE title from Sumo Digital and Focus Home Interactive.
Hood: Outlaws and Legends will be launching on PlayStation 5 and the two showed the trailer on last night's State of Play. No exclusivity here, though, as it will be available on Xbox One and Series X, PS4 and PS5, and PC.
As for the hood, this seems to be the only similarity with Ubisoft's franchise, even if it did leave a few question marks. Hood: Outlaws and Legends, however, is a very different sort of experience.
"Faced with a merciless, unchecked state, rebels and rogues from every corner battle to claim their place among legends. To win influence with an oppressed people, rival gangs now compete in daring heists to hit the wealthy where it hurts. Folk hero or gold-hungry outlaw, only the best will escape with hard-earned riches", the dev wrote.
Hood: Outlaws and Legends has two teams of players competing to execute heists quicker and better than the other team. Each character comes with a specific skill set which will come in handy for various aspects of the heist, but if all fails - there's always the good ol' brawling.
Hood: Outlaws and Legends is scheduled for launch sometime in 2021, and we should be hearing much more about the game until then. According to the Steam page, the game lets players:
- Outplay opponents in intense PvPvE multiplayer heists
- Experience a violent medieval world where ancient mysticism competes with man-made power and corruption
- Claim your loot and invest in perks, weapons and bold new looks
- Post launch support with new maps, characters, game modes and events
