Halo Infinite's developer 343 Industries have announced that the beloved shotgun from the Halo series is being replaced by a less powerful, but faster Bulldog shotgun.
Halo is one of the franchises that has been here for ages, and during that time it won the hearts of many gamers. The community that gathers around the Halo series is very passionate and heartfelt when it comes to the cult Microsoft shooter. For that reason, the developer's decision to remove one of the iconic weapons from the game could meet with a barrage of dissatisfaction among the Master Chief's followers.
Although Halo Infinite has been delayed in unfortunate events that followed after the gameplay reveal, it is still considered one of the biggest upcoming titles, and fans are eagerly awaiting its arrival on the new generation of Xbox consoles.
As some already know, when the game arrives, many will be disappointed with the fact that Halo Infinite will not feature the classic shotgun from previous titles.
The 343 Industries have revealed that the Bulldog shotgun won’t be as powerful as the classic one, but you’ll be able to fire more rounds per minute and reload faster, which could make this weapon very useful in Multiplayer, and that’s what the developer wants to do in the first place because as they say, shotguns are rarely used in Halo competitive Online matches.
David Price, the game's lead weapons designer said the following about the new shotgun:
"The Bulldog is a versatile weapon that provides the player with the role of a shotgun and up-close playstyle more frequently in multiplayer than previous Halo titles as it is lower on the lethality scale of weapons and thus more prevalent."
It remains to be seen how the new shotgun will be accepted by the players and whether it will come to life in Multiplayer, unlike its older cousin.
Halo Infinite is coming to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Windows PC sometime in 2021.
