Grounded 2 is almost here, and Obsidian's highly anticipated sequel promises a bigger world, bolder bugs, and even more fun when it launches on July 29.
In the latest news drop, Xbox have revealed some exciting new details about the game, including the Founder's Edition, special gifts for everyone who plays and some great accessibility options.
Grounded 2 Founder's Edition
For those who want to truly stand out in the microscopic mayhem, the Minotaurs, Myrmidons, and Mants: Oh My! Founder's Edition will be available for purchase at launch for $39.99 USD. This special edition is packed with goodies that won't give you a gameplay advantage, but they'll certainly make you look nice.
The Founder's Edition includes:
- Four premium character skins: Transform into the mighty Minotaur, the stoic Myrmidon, the elusive Rogue, or the fearsome Mant, each with their own custom emotes.
- "ONYX-PRO, Inside the Game": A digital artbook and soundtrack offering a behind-the-scenes look at Grounded 2's development, updated throughout Game Preview/Early Access.
If you start with the Standard Edition ($29.99 USD) or through Game Pass, you can always grab the cosmetic items, artbook, and soundtrack later with the Founder's Pack upgrade for $10.00 USD.
Tools of Yore: A Gift for Every Tiny Explorer
While initially announced as a Founder's Edition exclusive, the Tools of Yore - a decorative set of Tool Effigies - will actually be a free gift to all players who join Grounded 2. It's the development team's way of saying "thank you" for venturing back into their incredible shrinking world.
Arachnophobia Safe Mode and More Accessibility Features
Grounded 2 is launching with a strong commitment to accessibility, ensuring that more players can enjoy the experience. Features like Arachnophobia Safe Mode, colorblind options, subtitle customisation, narration through Read to Me, adjustable reticles, and control settings are all included from day one.
The game will also support the same localized languages as the original Grounded at launch, with more to be added.
Grounded 2 Release Date and Game Pass tier explained
You can jump into the miniature action on July 29, 2025, through Game Preview for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, and Xbox Cloud, and in Early Access on Steam.
It will also be available day one with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Grounded 2 is also an Xbox Play Anywhere title, which means a single purchase lets you seamlessly switch between Xbox consoles and the Xbox PC app with full cross-progression.
