Tango Gameworks have officially announced that their action-adventure game Ghostwire: Tokyo won't be launching in 2021. The release date has been pushed to early 2022.

Timed PlayStation 5 exclusive Ghostwire: Tokyo has officially been delayed to early 2022. Tango Gameworks, the development team behind this action-adventure, which was initially planned to launch this year, revealed the news today via their social media channels.

Here is Tango Gameworks announcement in full:

"We've made the decision to delay the launch of Ghostwire: Tokyo to early 2022. We want to get the game in your hands as soon as possible so you can experience the unforgettable version of a haunted Tokyo that we've been hard at work building.

At the same time, we are also focused on protecting the health of everyone at Tang.

Our new release window will give us time to bring the world of Ghostwire to life as we've always envisioned it.

Thank you for being patient as we work to bring you an experience unlike anything else we've ever made. We can't wait to show you more in the coming months."

Ghostwire: Tokyo will be launching on PC and PlayStation 5 initially. Xbox Series X|S version will now be pushed to early 2023, due to an exclusivity deal between Bethesda and Sony which means the game won't be coming to Xbox consoles for at least a year. This is probably the last deal between Sony and Bethesda since the publisher is now under the Microsoft umbrella.
