Ghost Recon Wildlands is headed for a free weekend with a guest appearance from Sam Fisher

Ubisoft are hosting a free weekend for Ghost Recon Wildlands from 12 to 15 April 2018 but this time it will have a twist. Sam Fisher of Splinter Cell fame will be making an appearance in a new mission which is part of Special Operations.

First part of the post-launch content will start tomorrow, on 10 April 2018 which will make the crossover mission available for free to all players. The free weekend will commence two days later, so the players jumping in to try the game out will be able to team up with Sam Fisher as well. His mission will be a "new high-risk infiltration mission in fictionalised future Bolivia'' .

This mission will be playable in both solo and four player co-op versions and Ubisoft claim that this will be one of the most difficult missions the players have faced thus far. They have confirmed the mission will be a stealthy one, which is a fact no one ever saw coming after they announced players will be teaming up with Sam Fisher. Apparently it will be conducted exclusively during the night.

Completing the mission will award players with exclusive items such as Sam's sonar goggles that include a new night-vision filter. Just like the Predator mission, it will remain available in the game indefinitely but the rewards will not be available after the "Special Challenge" ends on 16 May 2018. New weapons will also be available, namely the Karambit Knife and Fisher's SC 4000 prototype assault rifle.

Ghost Recon Wildlands' free weekend will be available on all platforms and all the game's content will be available so the free players will get to try everything out, including the Ghost War PvP mode, the Predator Mission and Special Operation I. It's noteworthy that the new Ghost War PvP class will also be available for everyone to try out.

Ubisoft Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands - the new cosmetics

This class is called Echelon, which as an assault class that is available in all PvP modes. Echelon marks the expansion of the Ghost War roster to 18 different classes. As the name suggests, this class is a part of Sam Fisher's Fourth Echelon team and this class will have a unique ability called the Sonar Pulse which will allow players to see the enemies behind walls at short range.
