Character banner re-runs have recently become pretty common in the world of Genshin Impact. A recent leak revealed that we might get the chance to pull for the Geo Archon Zhongli again.
A release of a new character is probably one of the most anticipated events a casual Genshin Impact player is looking forward to. But sadly, once a new five-star character arrives, his banner stays in the game for 10-15 days, and if you miss your chance of pulling, it's highly unlikely that you'll be able to acquire him/her anytime soon.
However, with the recent announcement of both Venti and Tartaglia, miHoYo made a strong statement that they will make some changes by introducing rate-up banners that will allow us to pull for already obtainable characters. Multiple tweets from many Genshin Impact leakers revealed a couple of interesting details about update 1.5.
Even though the leak accurately predicted a Venti banner re-run, it was wrong about Klee. Maybe at the time when it was detamined, miHoYo had actual plans to give Klee a re-run but later they could have their decision because Klee's banner has been the most popular banner in terms of sales. Pairing Childe's banner, which didn't do quite well a couple of mounts ago, with the new character Rosaria will surely do well enough for them to save Klee for another time when they have to give us a "filler" banner or event.
Zhongli didn't receive much love when he was initially released a couple of months due to the lack of damage and shield power he provided. Luckily enough, miHoYo decided to give him some buffs at the start of update 1.3 because he's the Geo Archon after all. He quickly went from "being useless" to becoming one of the strongest characters in a game and a must-have for any late-game team composition.
Unlike the 1.4 events update 1.5 will probably feature only one banner re-run since Baizhu is pretty much confirmed to be the new five-star character and it's highly unlikely that there will be more than two five-star banners. The only time we've had three banners in a single update was during the Chinese New Year (Xiao, Keqing and Hu Tao). The main reason for Hu Tao's absence from 1.3 was her death theme and pairing such topics with the Chinese New Year is considered taboo in Chinese culture.
